2023 State Candidate RVN Survey

Please answer the following by selecting YES or NO, and, if applicable, WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION Second Amendment rights. The right to self-defense is one of man’s most basic natural rights. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution codifies that the natural right of citizens to keep and bear arms "shall not be infringed." Twenty Five states currently allow law-abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons without a permit; these are called “Constitutional Carry” states. These states allow citizens to protect themselves and their families from criminals by not restricting the citizens’ right to self-defense.

Will you vote to enact a “Constitutional Carry” bill, which allows law-abiding citizens to carry in any manner, open or concealed, without government permission, permits, licenses, or fees? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______ Owners of the most popular rifle in America are being threatened by politicians and anti-gun activists, who would turn good citizens into felons for exercising their constitutionally protected rights.

  1. Will you vote to defeat, or repeal, any new legislation that seeks to ban citizens from owning any specific firearms or accessories? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______ In the 2020 Virginia State Legislative Session, legislators passed Red Flag Gun Confiscation. If elected, will you support our effort to repeal these unconstitutional schemes that violate not only the 2nd Amendment, but also the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments?

  2. Will you support legislation to repeal Red Flag Laws and restore the right of due process? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  3. Unconstitutional Executive Power Grabs. In a constitutional republic, one individual should never have open-ended, dictatorial powers. During the COVID 19 crisis, Governors and elected officials declared and enforced unlawful and clearly unconstitutional orders. Will you vote to oppose any emergency declarations that exceed the constitutional powers of elected officials, including, but not limited to forced facial coverings, lockdowns, business closures, and any actions infringing upon the right to assemble, or worship? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______ Medical Freedom. In 2020, elected officials imposed mask mandates and the Virginia Health Commissioner declared that his office had the right to force citizens of the Commonwealth to involuntarily submit to mandatory vaccination.

  4. Will you support legislation to strip the authority of unelected bureaucrats to order mandatory vaccinations or injections, or to ingest anything involuntarily? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  5. Will you support legislation that prohibits elected officials and bureaucrats from imposing any vaccine requirement, and mask requirements. YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  6. School Choice. School officials and politicians have demanded complete control over the education of our children. Forced masking in schools and on school transport, school closures, and mandated remote learning adversely impacted the health and education of our children, while disregarding parents’ preferences and their jobs. Most Virginians are opposed to age inappropriate materials in classrooms and school libraries, promoting gender dysphoria especially without informing parents, disregard for girls privacy, giving biological males access to female facilities, allowing males to compete against females in sports, promoting anti-American curriculum including anti-White “Critical Race Theory” constructs, historically inaccurate “1619 Project” claims that America was founded on racism as opposed to our 1776 Declaration of Independence that says all men are created equal with unalienable rights. Competition will improve education as it does every other aspect of our lives. Will you vote for full "school choice” legislation that allows parents to use education vouchers for the public, charter, private, parochial, or home-school of their choice? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  7. Electoral Reform and Fair Elections. Virginia must conduct a formal public review of all software and source code used in any voting machine or vote tabulating machine. Moving forward to improve election integrity, we must reinstate laws requiring photo identification of registered voters, signature verification by a notary for mail-in ballots, and delivery of those ballots to an election office before election day. Other necessary reforms must include cleansing of voter rolls using social security numbers, and the removal of deceased voters and those who moved. Will you vote to require the above and any other electoral reforms designed to prevent corruption and ensure the integrity of elections? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  8. The Right to Work. It is morally wrong for the state to force anyone to involuntarily join any organization or union as a condition of employment. Will you support Right to Work in Virginia? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  9. Civil Asset Forfeiture. The right to due process of law is enshrined in the United States Constitution. However, currently in Virginia it is being ignored. Virginia has some of the worst civil forfeiture laws in the nation, where your property is seized without a conviction This seizure of a person’s property without the right to jury trial is a grave injustice and governmental abuse of power. Will you support legislation to end civil asset forfeiture? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  10. Illegal aliens. Sanctuary jurisdictions, government funded Medicare, social security, college subsidies, and the issuance of any state identification or driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants are an abuse of power and illegal expenditure of taxpayer money. Non-citizens are not entitled to government benefits and services. Will you support legislation to deny non-citizens access to all government programs, services and taxpayer funded benefits of any kind; to remove non-citizens from existing programs; to outlaw and defund illegal alien sanctuaries; to demand cooperation with ICE for detainment and deportation; and, to ban the issuance of driver licenses to illegal immigrants? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______ Taxation. Our Founding Fathers rebelled over a 2% tax on tea. Today, Virginians pay some of the highest property taxes in the nation. When added to other State and Federal income taxes, many residents pay more in taxes than they do for housing, food and clothing combined. Onerous taxation, and all manner of government licenses and fees, diminish our property rights and, worse, our freedom. Currently seven states have no personal income tax.

  11. Will you support legislation to eliminate the Virginia Personal Property Tax? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  12. Will you support legislation to eliminate non-medical occupational licensing, and licensing and fees for the usage of private property and public lands? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  13. Will you vote to eliminate the Virginia Income Tax? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  14. Taxpayer Funding of Abortion. Citizens of Virginia should not be forced to pay for abortions that violate their religious beliefs. Will you support legislation to defund, any direct or indirect, taxpayer funding of abortions and organizations like Planned Parenthood that conduct abortions? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  15. Women’s Rights and Privacy Protections. Over the past few years, many states have passed legislation to allow biological men to use women’s restrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities, and to unfairly compete in women’s sports. This violates the right to privacy for women and young girls, and in some cases has led to sexual assault. Will you support legislation that prohibits members of one biological sex from using publicly funded facilities, or participating in publicly funded sports, intended for the other biological sex? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION ______

  16. Socialized Medicine. One key component of ObamaCare is the expansion of state Medicaid programs to 138% of the federal poverty level. Over 97% of citizens with ObamaCare coverage are now on expanded Medicaid programs. Not only is this optional program unaffordable for Virginia going forward, implementing it obligates our state to cede control over Medicaid programs to the federal government. Will you support legislation that would repeal Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion in Virginia? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______
